Spring 2020 CERT Basic Training

Thank you for your interest in the Keller CERT Association.  Our next training class will begin 2/4/2020 and the class is full at this time. We are no longer accepting applications. Check this web site in the Fall of 2020 for the announcement of the 2021 class. Please see the schedule for details of classes and dates. Spring 2020 Class Schedule. To be eligible to attend the class, you must be 18 years of age or older and live or work within the city limits of Keller or in the Keller ISD.

To enroll, please fill out the online Keller CERT Application form.  Or, if you would prefer a paper application, you may download and fill out the form (see link) and return to Keller Fire-Rescue, PO Box 770, Keller, TX 76244: Application Revised 12-31-13 .

This program trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations so they can assist with hazards that may impact Keller. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members will be prepared to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members are also involved in non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community.

The 10-week course provides participants with hands-on learning including Fire Department demonstrations and familiarization, an engine and ladder demonstration, a station tour, a tour of a medic unit and a disaster simulation.
